Decoding Morse Code with Your Device's Rear Camera

The application allows users to decode Morse code by simply aligning the camera with a blinking light, ensuring the light remains within the designated red circle. Users should be aware that if the light blinks at a frequency outside the default transmission settings, they may initially miss the first two characters. However, following this, the decoding algorithm automatically adjusts to the new frequency, preventing further character loss during use. This adjustment is retained for the duration of the app session, and a pinch-to-zoom feature enhances usability.

Transmitting Morse Code via Camera Flash and Speaker

Users can transmit Morse code messages through either light signals using the camera flash or audio signals via the device's speakers. This flexibility allows for varied communication preferences.

Text-to-Morse and Morse-to-Text Translation

The application provides functionality for translating plain text into Morse code and vice versa, making it a useful tool for both learning and practical application.

Morse Code Reference

A comprehensive Morse Code International Telecommunication Union (ITU) alphabet is included for user reference, facilitating quick access to needed information.

Disclaimers:

The app requires a device frame rate of at least 7 fps to successfully decode signals at the lowest transmission frequency. Users may find decoding increasingly inaccurate as the blinking light moves farther away from the camera; optimal results are typically observed at night or in low light conditions.
